Apathetic, cold and skeptic
No, epigenetics is a nasty-ass aesthetic if you’re
handed down a family tree with pessimism in your genes
The methylation patterns show obsessive personality.
And nature and your nurture has you trained environmentally
To look at every instance for an, imminent catastrophe
You learn to look and never see
And everything you want to be is
Strained though your perception of a logical reality.
In your cells you know
Blood runs thick but it wouldn’t exist
Without what’s wrapping around your histones.
With post-transcriptional control,
Genes get switched by a flick of the wrist.
You feel like the conglomeration, of
past mistakes from generations
Cynical acetylation,
inexplicable mutation
Skip and a jump from plaster casts of grander generations
Living in your point mutations
Polymorphic calibrations
(Mitochondrial relations)
In your cells you know

My yellow plates foster, unfading with time.
My pictures and pages depict and define
All the singled-out muscles for genuine smiles
Inspecting the flexion of orbits of eyes
I’ll teach you their names, not the pain that they hide.

to complete me, to bound, and release me
for readers to study, and to learn and critique me.
